Paediatric Pads for the Village Hall
A message from the Village Hall Committee
You will have noticed some changes round the village hall and there will be more to follow in due course.
The mound in front of the hall is in the process of becoming a natural style garden. In this area will be planted the memorial rose to Ethel, as announced earlier this year.
The Village Hall Committee would like to express their gratitude to Bertie Raines of RJR Tree Services, Wantage, for donating his time to assist with clearing the mound.
Having had a Building Survey by a specialised company from Oxford, the hall will be undergoing basic refurbishment. The Parish Council, Village Hall Committee and others have been working hard to establish what is best for us all in the village. A rebuild of the hall was considered inappropriate at this time.
The refurbishment will be an ongoing project as and when funds allow, and the cost for the basic refurbishment will be about £15,000, with scope to spend more. The hall committee is searching out and applying for funds at this time. If any of you know about funding opportunities that we might have missed, please let any of the committee know. The Parish Council have kindly committed £5,000 which is a very good start. Any other donations would be most acceptable too!
We will be asking for working party help in various ways so please keep reading your emails.
Thank you for all your support at village events, as this is our main source of income. If you have any recommendations for future social events, please let one of the committee know.
