Press notice – Changes to bin collection days in Vale of White Horse over Christmas and New Year

Residents in Vale of White Horse are being reminded that their waste and recycling collections will change over the Christmas and New Year period.

The information on the changes and on what to do with extra recycling and food waste at this time of year is on our website .

Dates for West Challow: 

  • Collection scheduled Monday 31st December will change to Wednesday 2nd January (Grey bin and food bin)
  • Collection scheduled Monday 7th January will change to Tuesday 8th January (Green bin and food bin – no garden waste collection)

There are also details on the website about how people can recycle their real Christmas trees.

Brown bin collections (garden waste) will be suspended over the Christmas period, while crews concentrate on collecting all the extra waste from Christmas. Garden waste customers will receive an extra collection in the spring to make up for this.
