Solar Farm (PV) Proposal East of Denchworth: Invitation to a Consultation

The Clerk has received the following e-mail which whilst not directly in our parish may be of interest to residents.  The co-ordinates of the site can be found in the boundary plan.

Subject: NOTIFICATION OF EARLY STAGE SOLAR (PV) FARM PROPOSAL AND INVITATION FOR CONSULTATION ON LAND AT MANOR FARM, EAST OF DENCHWORTH, OXON

Good morning,

I hope you are well.

I am introducing myself as a Development Manager from Renewable Connections. We are working with a landowner on land at Manor Farm, East of Denchworth (see attached site boundary) to facilitate the development of a new Solar Farm. I will be taking the scheme through to determination of a planning application.

More details about who Renewable Connections are can be found on the project website:  https://www.renewableconnections.co.uk/manor-solar-farm/

A public exhibition event will be held at Denchworth Village Hall, Barn Close, Denchworth, Oxon, OX12 0EZ on 24th  November 2022 from 3-7pm, it would be helpful and collaborative to our scheme design process if you are able to attend. Additionally, if you wish to undertake a site visit before or after the consultation exhibition, I will be more than happy to organise and discuss the proposals further.

The scheme is in its early stages and the proposals are yet to be finalised, which is why your input will be most beneficial as we prepare a final layout. I intend to provide a monthly update on our progress as we work through the technical and planning constraints of the site.

The following authorities have been included in this email; however this is not exhaustive and other parties are welcome to provide feedback:

  • Vale of White Horse District ward members,  Climate Emergency Advisory and Planning Committees
  • Oxfordshire County Council
  • Denchworth Parish Meeting
  • East Challow Parish Council
  • Goosey Parish Meeting
  • Grove Parish Council
  • West Challow Parish Council
  • West Hanney Parish Council

A further letter has been sent out this week to residents in the local area inviting them to attend the event and provide feedback on the proposals.

Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any queries; my mobile is 07436 380389. I look forward to continuing a stream of dialogue. Should you wish to have a Teams meeting, I will be more than happy to organise one.

Kind regards,

Joel Gandhi MRTPI
